Podsnap Terms of Service

Podsnap (com.maxschwaber.podskip) is a podcast player that skips ads, built and run by one person. Using the app means you agree to these terms.

The service

Podsnap plays podcasts you choose, transcribes episodes to find ad reads, and skips or flags them. Transcripts and detected ad segments are shared across everyone using the same server, keyed to the episode rather than to you. See the privacy policy for what data that involves.

If you sign in, Podsnap also keeps your own library — subscriptions, folders, playlists, stars, positions, and stats — on the server so it follows you between devices. Unlike transcripts, your library is yours alone and is never shared. See the privacy policy.

The subscription

The first 30 episodes played with ad-skipping on are free. After that, continuing to skip ads requires Podsnap Plus, a $1.99/month subscription. The app keeps working as a normal podcast player without a subscription — the paywall applies only to new ad-skip marks.

The subscription is sold, billed, and renewed through Google Play, not by Podsnap directly. Google Play handles payment, automatic renewal, and cancellation. Cancel any time from Google Play's subscription settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds follow Google Play's own policies. Podsnap does not see or store your payment details — only whether the subscription is active.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the content of any podcast feed you add.
Don't use the service to abuse, overload, or scrape the server outside normal app use.
Manual ad-segment marks you submit should describe the episode accurately — they are shared with other listeners of that episode.

No warranty

Podsnap is provided as-is. Ad detection can be wrong: it may miss an ad or skip something that wasn't one. The developer is not liable for missed, mis-skipped, or delayed content, or for service interruptions.

Changes

These terms may change as the app does. If they change, the date above changes, and material changes are called out in the app's release notes.
